A VCXO is a crystal oscillator whose output frequency can be tuned by an applied control voltage.
- Function: Provides stable frequency with fine tuning via voltage input.
- Tuning Range: Typically ±50 to ±200 ppm.
- Control Voltage: Usually 0–3.3V or 0–5V.
- Applications: Clock recovery, phase-locked loops (PLLs), jitter attenuation.
- Key Parameters: Tuning sensitivity (MHz/V or ppm/V), stability, phase noise.
Note: Offers better stability than VCOs but smaller tuning range.
