Time Delay Relays
Definition: Time delay relays (TDRs) are control devices that introduce a preset time delay before switching electrical circuits on or off.
Types:
- On-Delay Relay (TON): Output energizes after a set delay once input is applied.
- Off-Delay Relay (TOF): Output remains on for a set time after input is removed.
- One-Shot Relay: Provides a fixed-duration output pulse upon trigger.
- Repeat Cycle (Cyclic) Relay: Alternates on/off in repeating time intervals.
Applications:
- Motor start sequencing
- Pump control systems
- Lighting control (e.g., stairwell timers)
- Conveyor belt synchronization
- HVAC system staging
Key Features:
- Adjustable timing range (ms to hours)
- Multiple mounting options (DIN rail, PCB, panel mount)
- LED status indicators
- Wide voltage inputs (AC/DC)
Note: Always verify coil voltage, contact rating, and timing accuracy for your application.
