Audio Transformers

Purpose: Used in audio circuits to match impedance, isolate signals, and transfer audio signals between stages.

• Impedance Matching – Match source and load impedances (e.g., 600Ω to 600Ω).
• Signal Isolation – Provide DC isolation while passing AC audio signals.
• Balun Function – Convert between balanced and unbalanced signals (e.g., in microphone inputs).
• Voltage Step-Up/Down – Increase or decrease signal voltage via turns ratio.

Common Packages: PCB mount, chassis mount, toroidal, or potted modules.

Note: Modern designs often use active circuits, but transformers are still valued for noise rejection and galvanic isolation.
